SUMMERFEST

Edition 2012

ITALY - FLORIDA  - REPUBLIC OF PANAMA

Designed to connect the artistic and cultural traditions of the world with those of Florida, the Summefest is an annual festival that arrives this year to its 21st edition. Presented by the Symphony of the Americas and American Airlines, it is the longest music festival event in Florida, and is one of the top cultural projects funded by the State of Florida’s International Cultural Exchange Program.

This summer, Mission Chamber Orchestra (MCO)  from Italy, is in residence. Summerfest begins in Italy in Mai with rehearsals and concerts and in US in June with outdoor, educational, and gala performances plus outreach concerts by special invitation under the Maestro Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese’s baton in the countries of Florida and Republic of Panama, The Symphony of the Americas has commissioned the Maestro Lorenzo Turchi-Floris a new creation for piano and string orchestra that will be performed throughout the all festival.

OUR “MISSION” FOR SUMMERFEST 2012

Summerfest educational events reach over 20,000 students – introducing the masterful sounds of American, European and Latin composers. By prestigious performances at the Broward Center of Florida, at the Theatre National de Panama, the prestigious American Universities, the tough schools of South America where children often listen in disbelief symphonic music for the first time. Here begins our "mission". Thousands of students take music education programs desired by governments, through music, help children to develop alternative plans to those who would lead them in the streets, to physical and moral poverty.
