THE PROJECT
A Spring for ... " aim this year to help a young Angolan Orchestra: the Kaposoka Orchestra.
The orchestra was born inside a music school created by Pedro Fançoni,
professor of law at the University of Luanda (Angola).
Fançony has designed and conducted this project with great determination and energy.
For some years now, the results of this monumental work begin to appear more and more important,
endearing the interest ofmedia and goverative institutions.
The school was founded in the suburbs of Luanda (Angola's capital), in a district with little light and a little water.
The houses, streets and cars are in a critical state, the hygienic conditions often deplorable.
Every day the young musicians get up and go to the music school,
where a shower and a hot meal will be offered to them.
They play Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven and traditional African pieces.
They spend hours and hours studying and dreaming of a better future,
they are gifted and determined.
The Kaposoka orchestra is the most emblematic result of the homonymous music school.
During the interviews with the kaposoka students, some of them confided that
attended the entrance exam in the hope of getting a daily meal provided by the structure.
Then they learned to feed themselves also with music, which has become their main source of living.
Today the school has thousands of inscriptions; it has become an important reference point for the whole city.
The Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos plans to build twenty Kaposoka locations around the Country
in order to suppress and combat crime.
Musicfor and ImmaginArte in collaboration with Tennis for Africa Onlus
promote the 6 Concert Festival of Italian Conservatories
A SPRING FOR ANGOLA - 2014
The Italian Conservatories and their young musicians offer their talents to support the project Kaposoka.
The funds will be donated to the organization tales of a kaposoka Orchestra tour in Italy
and the purchase of musical instruments.
